Compression Pumps

A compression pump is the best way to treat symptoms during the initial phase of Lymphedema, Lipedema, Chronic Venous Insufficiency, DVT  and PAD, and they minimizes the progression going forward. These conditions are not curable; however, they can be controlled by regular use of a compression device.

Our pumps can be used on both upper and lower extremities as well as the trunk, abdomen area.  They offer effective treatment in the convenience of your home.

We accept Medicare and most insurances.

How Our Compression Pumps Work

A Lymphedema / Chronic Venous Insufficiency (CVI) Pump Is an Intermittent, Pneumatic Compression Device with Sequential Gradient Pressure. Sequential Pneumatic Compression Devices Consist of a  Durable Garment and a  Pneumatic Pump connected by tubing.

When you are ready to use the device…

The garments are zippered on, the machine is turned on, the timer and pressure are set Your pneumatic compression pump will begin compressing excess lymph fluid upward, chamber by chamber (see diagram)

In an eight-chamber leg garment and pump, the first and second chambers are the foot / ankle area, third and fourth are the calf area, fifth and sixth are the knee area and seventh and eighth are the thigh area.  In the arm garments, the first and second chambers are the fingertip / hand area, third and fourth are the wrist / forearm area, fifth and sixth are the elbow area, and the seventh and eighth are the upper arm / axilla area.

* The compression sequentially moves the excess lymph fluid upward, towards the groin area In leg, and towards the shoulder / chest area in the arm.

*These are the areas of the body where we have an abundance of working lymph nodes. The excess collected lymph fluid then attaches to these nodes and vessels and are absorbed and eliminated from the body.

There are two types of compression pumps…

Uncalibrated (E0651) are set at one pressure and sequentially inflate upward producing a “milking” effect on the limb, compressing fluid to where it’s eliminated from the body. These pumps are the most popular and often prescribed by physicians. In addition, insurance companies are more likely to authorize this model.

Calibrated (E0652) can be set to different pressure settings in each chamber of the garment /sleeve,  enabling maximum compliance for those with severe ulcers / wounds, limb tenderness or pain in a specific area of the extremity.

Portable Compression Pump

The Portable Compression System is a new level of innovation to the pneumatic compression device category. This tube free pump with a fully integrated lithium-ion battery that supplies over 20 hours of treatment on a single charge.

This device is ideal for DVT prevention and swelling reduction post-surgery as well as Lymphedema and Chronic Venous Insufficiency treatment while traveling. It is airline compatible and is often referred to as our ‘planes, trains, and automobile ‘pump’. This pump can be used daily and is quite convenient.
